Home is where my heart is...

Just back from short holidays :-) and I have few cooking ideas on the line up but first, I want to share with my wonderful foodie friends some scenes from my home town- an island in Southeast Asia :-D. It's a small island with quality food and average temperature but her unique cultures and wonderful islanders of multi nationalities made up the lost of what she don't have compared to other famous islands on earth.Hope you enjoy it and thank you for viewing them :-)

  1. Nice to have you back. This is a nice slideshow featuring beautiful and clear photos.
That is a displayed of 'good timing' for the shot of the monkey tangaling/crossing the electric wiring.

  5. Hi,

I'm from North... the island known for her food like Assam Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Nutmegs, Tambun biscuits, Sesame Oil, Durians and some famous movies like Indochine, The King and I ( Jodie Foster & Chow Yuen Fatt version), Ang Lee's Lust, Caution and lately a German filming crew was there... *hint* hint* hint*

  6. Hi Ivy,

If you watched Survivor - Greek version, you would see the team travelling to the island ;-) but the actual island they filmed the show was on the southern part of the country at the Straits of Malacca... if I'm not mistaken because my Greek friend flew in the same plane with one of the team/crew after visiting me... :-)

  7. hi CK,

hehehe .. I called them the Monkey Caravan with their family and all balancing themselves from one end to another. I'm more afraid of them getting electric shock if they accidently grab hold on open cable. Though they are nuisance to the residents in the area when they ransacked the bins and turned over flower pots, they deserve to live.
