It appeared when there's heavy thunder claps and lightnings? But this one is Termittomyces albuminosa. Another type lives in an obligate symbiosis with termites of the subfamily Macrotermitinae natalensis... the termites' fungus garden' is Termitomyces sp. I think cooking it with coconut milk and chillies are yummy or deep fried it with tempura batter!pixenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08189015058658260987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-589057777801750973.post-62203414125808383742008-09-02T21:08:00.000+02:002008-09-02T21:08:00.000+02:00Ivy... glad you like mushrooms like I do :-) With ...Ivy... glad you like mushrooms like I do :-) With my youngest sister, there's only 1 species she won't touch - Black Fungus or Wood ear fungus :-P because the Chinese use it to cure nose bleed. Although there is a mushroom in season right now, called mamarang (Termitomyces sp)that grow on termite hills. I think this dish would be perfect.

Gay
A scientist in the kitchenA Scientist in the Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13885741738197047058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-589057777801750973.post-51588876484705564892008-08-26T22:44:00.000+02:002008-08-26T22:44:00.000+02:00I could eat mushrooms everyday although there are ...I could eat mushrooms everyday although there are many varieties I still do not know, including this one but I am sure I will love it.Ivyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12370053555998889434noreply@blogger.com
